LOS ANGELES, May 03, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --Herbalife announced a partnership with Union Rescue Mission (URM) to serve healthy protein shakes at breakfast weekday mornings on an annual basis to all guests in the Skid Row community that depend on the mission for good, nutritious meals.

On average, URM serves 3500 meals each day. Herbalife will donate its Formula 1 Nutritional Shake Mix to the mission so residents can start their day with a nutritious drink at breakfast. Both organizations hope to provide healthy eating habits to the hope and healing process of experiencing homelessness.

An Herbalife Formula 1 shake has more calcium than 6-ounces of plain yogurt, more protein than a roasted chicken thigh, more vitamin A than a mango, more vitamin C than a banana, more fiber than a half-cup of broccoli and as much iron as a half cup of black beans. Herbalife first became involved with the Union Rescue Mission in 2008 when it relocated its main offices to downtown L.A. by helping to serve shakes to people on line at Thanksgiving and conducting drives for clothing and personal care items.
